Perth-born Brett Peart is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, holding a Bachelor of Music in classical vocal performance. A former Wesfarmers Arts Young Artist at West Australian Opera (2024\u20132025), he was awarded a scholarship by the Richard-Wagner-Stipendienstiftung<\/em> to attend the Bayreuther Festspiele 2026<\/em>. Brett is currently transitioning into the Heldentenor repertoire, establishing himself as a compelling and powerful dramatic voice in the Australian operatic landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His performances have consistently garnered critical acclaim. The West Australian<\/em> has described him as \u201cfull of braggadocio but also beguiling charm,\u201d while Seesaw Magazine<\/em> noted he is \u201cespecially successful in getting into his vocal stride.\u201d Highlighting his commanding stage presence, Magazine6000<\/em> observed: \u201cThe talents of Brett Peart in particular immediately gripped my attention. His presence was undeniable in every scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brett performs regularly with West Australian Opera, with recent highlights including Ben in Menotti’s The Telephone<\/em> and the Sergeant of Police in The Pirates of Penzance<\/em>. He has also performed with Freeze Frame Opera, notably as Owen Hart in Dead Man Walking<\/em> and the title role in Don Giovanni<\/em>. Throughout these productions, he has shared the stage with distinguished artists such as Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Warwick Fyfe, Rachelle Durkin, and Paul O’Neill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far in 2026, Brett’s performances with West Australian Opera have included Verdi’s La Traviata<\/em>, Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin<\/em>, Schlendrian in Bach’s Coffee Cantata<\/em>, the tenor solo in Tippett’s A Child of Our Time<\/em>, reprising the title role for the education tour of Biggest Baddest Wolf<\/em>, and Philip Glass’s The Trial<\/em> for the Perth Festival (co-produced with Lost & Found Opera). His upcoming engagements feature Gounod’s Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/em> with West Australian Opera, Enchanted Encounters: Villains<\/em>, and a return to Coffee Cantata<\/em> at the Arboria Chamber Music Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
